Winter Sports

It doesn't get any better than Quechee Lakes for winter sports. There are a mind-boggling array of choices, with miles and miles of trails open for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, downhill ski and snowboard runs that are perfect for everyone from first-timers to experts, and many ponds to pass the time ice skating or playing hockey.

Quechee Lakes is an outdoor enthusiast's delight. The snow falls early in this northern New England landscape, making way for lots of ski, snowboard and cross-country runs throughout the season in an inviting environment that is quintessential Vermont. The ski season here typically runs from late October through May, and sometimes into June.

There are also a wide range of off-slope activities to keep everyone in the family busy. Aside from snow-tubing and the fitness center at the Quechee Club featuring an indoor pool and squash court, backcountry snowmobiling and horse-drawn sleigh rides are very popular at Quechee Lakes.

Also to consider as a slope alternative are myriad galleries, shops, museums, restaurants and performing arts centers. Quechee Lakes is within a 15 minute drive of the historic villages of Woodstock, Vermont and Hanover, New Hampshire. Of particular note, is the nearby Hopkins Center for the Arts at Dartmouth College. The Hopkins Center welcomes audiences to discover its exclusive engagements, world premieres and a full spectrum of stellar artistry. The Hop's family-friendly programming features top-notch productions, classes for adults and students, and a host of other ways to get involved.
